Stuart McDonnell and Marion Whitelaw apply their design skills in furniture and textiles , respectively , to various product mediums. Coupled with their great respect for the manufacturing processes which combine creativity and excellence of finished product , The Plan has worked with a wide range of clients across a broad spectrum of interiors specialisms.

All designs are created by The Plan , representing a contemporary and innovative approach to include:

Upholstered seating:

This is supplied from our own ranges or custom designed and/or manufactured for unique projects. Although specialising in upholstered seating , we also provide seating , tables and reception desking utilising a broad selection of mediums such as metal , glass , timber and other related products.

Clients have included:

London City Airport , Reed International , Virgin Management HQ , BBC , Victoria & Albert Museum , Granada TV , Grantham College.

Furnishing textiles:

Woven and printed, our own design , project management and production skills have attracted unique and diverse names such as architect Zaha Hadid , international fashion designer , the late Jean Muir , Barclays Bank , The Hospitals for Sick Children at Great Ormond Street and the Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden.

Surface pattern design:

For various mediums such as flooring, wall coverings and rugs.

All products meet appropriate contract specification and British Standard requirements or those as may be required for overseas clients.

We provide the following services:

Design and manufacture of standard seating ranges.

Custom design and/or manufacture of product for special projects.

Project and production management for specialised textile work.
